Prop Armor

This is the only "artsy" project I've got going. It's actually my second stab at it and so far so good. The process is simple. Download Pepakura, find the pep model you want, print, assemble, fiberglass, detail, paint and finally wear. The process takes a REALLY REALLY long time. I think I probably have 50 hours in the above helmet. I started work on the chest piece but probably won't finish. Here's what it looked like after some of the Bondo work. If you're working on one of these, don't even bother sanding the fiberglass, just cover the whole thing in Bondo, it sands 10x easier.

I worked on this thing a ton over Christmas. It's almost done, only a few more things that requires just a little bit of bondo and then paint.

Also, once it's finished these are the LEDs I plan on putting in it. They're 100mW 10mm LEDs.

Sorry most of these projects don't get updated often. The fact is I got stuff at different locations meaning ones that are on hold will be on hold for months at a time. This is one of those projects. However, in the meantime I'm looking for something to do after this helmet. I was hoping to make something comparable to the 405th's Elite Showcase but the majority of helmets out there are better than mine. I still like how it's turned out even though it was a long process to end up with something only moderately cool.

So at this point I'm looking for something new. This is what I was considering:

I don't feel like this is that epic though. I want to do something not very many people have done before. Please post some suggestions on my blog since I'm open to potentially awesome ideas.
